TISTA appoints Joseph A. Rhodes as new CEO
TISTA Science & Technology is positioning itself for continued growth and success with a new leadership structure.
Maryland, August 19, 2021. TISTA Science & Technology announced today that Joseph Rhodes has been appointed the new CEO of the company. An experienced business leader, Mr. Rhodes succeeded Asif Ahmed and assumed responsibilities as of August 18, 2021. Mr. Ahmed, TISTA’s long time CEO, transitions to the role of Strategic Advisor as part of the TISTA Board of Directors and will remain intimately involved in the growth of the company as well as helping on branding and strategy.
Mr. Rhodes has extensive and storied experience leading large and midsize organizations, plus revolutionary startups, by inspiring cross-functional team growth and maximizing the customer experience, for both commercial and government customers.
“This transition has been part of TISTA’s strategy from the inception of the company. I have been blessed to be a part of the growth and success of TISTA and it is now time to support others to lead TISTA into the future,” said Asif Ahmed.
While at TISTA, Mr. Rhodes has helped lead initiatives focused on quality and growth that resulted in improved customer satisfaction and employee engagement. Upon joining TISTA in 2018, he has held roles as Executive Vice President of Health IT and most recently as Chief Operations Officer.

Mr. Rhodes received a Bachelor of Science at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.
